If that's not true, then where were you hearing the term "app store" used before apple trademarked it? No question there are multiple stores selling apps now, but if it was a generic term then there should be examples of use before the trademark filing. Example?

As for proc choices, I don't see Apple putting in a 2x00(S) processor.
- marketing would suck for it (why only 2.8GHz stock on the 2600S vs 3.4GHz stock on the 2600?)
- Intel charges more for the S models (dunno if that carries over to Apple, but maybe)
- the 27" has carried the i7-860 and i7-870 easily. Those are both 95W TDP processors. 2600S -> 65W TDP and the 2600/2600K -> 95W TDP. So the TDP doesn't increase, but the speed does.

It's an interesting idea, but I think this one is in next year territory, when it can be combined with iTV for wireless video streaming to you Mac or your TV.
And how about an iPod dock connector/cable to use an iPod for storage to keep the costs down (and sell more iPods)?

Because the 3rd party device could be in your neighbours house so your neighbour can see or hear anything that is played through AirPlay from your devices without you knowing. And you might be playing stuff that you wouldn't want your neighbour to see.

anyway,,,
right now i'm in korea, and it's 5:30 in teh morning... had to stay up all night to get the live broadcast.... it was very enthralling and stuff, all was good except that it'd hurt my productivity today.... haha

I hope you people realise that not all people in the catholic church think about condoms and such the way the Vatican does.
I am a seminarian (priest in training so to speak) and do not think condoms should be forbidden.
Don't forget that the Catholic church is very open, as in the Evolution theory, Big Bang, not taking the bible as a science or history book.

Dump AT&T and get something that offers unlimited data without threats. If they change your plan I believe that is a breech in contract and you are free to look for another carrier.

I'd like to see apple release merom and conroe machines ASAP, but I'm not going to rake them over the coals for lagging the announcements from PC makers by a few days (probably in the next two or three tuesdays).
Are all the pc merom laptops shipping immediately?
I think that Apple shouldn't enter that race.. their products are distinguished by other features than mere processing power (as soon as this changes: goodbye Apple), and coming out with new models every few months will probably just piss off Apple customers (so far, it's pretty easy to know ALL current laptop models that Apple offers - can you say that for Dell, too?).
Updating wouldn't mean new models, just bumps to what they're shipping now. And that's a GOOD thing, apple customers should be happy about having the latest and greatest available, not pissed off. Apple needs to consistently keep up with the latest cpus.

As much as I doubt that much massive growth, I'm more entertained by the "NEGATIVE" responses.
Not that I agree with them, (because I don't... I've used the WP7 and it's a decent phone with features people like that iOS will NEVER have)...

Well, thank you, I've heard of Home Sharing. I use it myself on my desktop and laptop. I was referring to an one-click streaming solution like Airtunes. More like "click there to stream music to my mac which is connected to my sound system" than "go to preferences, enable sharing; now wait while I browse your shared library".
I just wish to stream to my mac which is connected to my sound system from other Airtunes capable devices. That involves a hack only on my part and nothing at all to be done on other computers or iOS devices. Call me cheap, but that would be convenient to me and my friends.
To sum up, all I want is a Banana-TV equivalent but just for audio. It looks like it's just a matter of time.

I already have an AppleTV hooked up to our main A/V center, plus several AEs connected to self-contained CD radios in our kitchen, bedroom, etc. What's missing is the client I can run on my Mac that advertises it as another AirPlay remote speaker so iTunes running on the server in the basement can stream to it. Would be great if it included the ability to control iTunes like the iOS Remote App does.
